We’ve been thinking. A lot. We’ve been thinking and riding and testing and trying. And falling and getting up again and looking and changing and well, we came up with Monday’s Child the ultimate full compact titanium racing frame.

Aim of Project:

To make a comfortable, stiff, reliable road race frame with a little more feedback from the tarmac than the smooth Silk Road range. To produce a frameset for the seasoned racer or the rider who prefers a far more positive ride. If the silk road pro is a BMW M5, then the Monday’s Child is the Ferrari. Similar speeds, different sensations…. Key Features: Overview of tubeset (fully custom design by Sunday) Full 3AL 2.5V. Sloping geometries. Headtube: Integrated headtube, externally identical to silk road pro, but lightened internally.

Top tube: Double butted rounded triangular section. Increased resistance to out of plane bending and torsional loads. Stiffens front end for out of saddle efforts. Down tube: Multi worked oversized, ovalised, double butted downtube, vertically flared into headtube, horizontally flared into bottom bracket. Massively increased horizontal stiffness at bottom bracket for a more immediate power transfer. Increased "in line" stiffness to reduce front end flex resulting in more road feel (more immediate handling) and increased braking stiffness.

Seat tube: Oversize double butted seat tube, ovalised into bottom bracket to resist out of plane bending at bottom bracket, maximise weld area. Works with normal band on mech. Seat stays: Outwardly curved seatstays to increase road feel to the rider when seated, but still act as leaf spring for rider comfort. Ovalised horizontally to greatly increase lateral stiffness. Makes the bike track considerably better when seated and making quick direction changes (missing potholes, flicking round riders in a line out etc etc). helps maintain power transfer for seated peddling. Asymmetrically butted, giving strength and stiffness where it is actually required and no where else. Horizontal ovalisation reduced near seat tube to increase braking stiffness and increase strength of weld to seat tube.

Chainstays; Asymmetrically butted, designed to work together with the seat stays – slightly reduced vertical compliance (as that is provided by the seatstay design), and lateral stiffness carefully calculated to ensure the back wheel stays connected to the road during sprints. Common problem when frames are made very stiff is that the rear wheel skips across the pavement as the riders forces have no where else to be lost due to high modulus frames (esp with stiff deep section wheels). Mondays child is designed to be stiff, but has a "soft spot" on the chainstays to cushion the force and ensure rider power is converted efficiently to the rear wheel and not lost due to skipping…Result is a stiff feeling ride with responsive feel Fully compact (sloping) geometry. If you find a defect or damage you must sign for your parcel as damaged (if you do not do this we are unable to accept it for return), tell us as soon as possible and we will arrange for their return to us or the manufacturer. If the goods are found to be damaged prior to delivery to you, or defective, we will at your option repair or replace the goods or refund the price paid by you.

Any bike ordered must be checked by a trained bike mechanic before you attempt to ride it unless special pre build is requested.

A copy of these Terms and Conditions and your order may not be kept by us and so we advise you to print a copy of them for your information in the future.

If you are a consumer you have the right, in addition to your other rights, to cancel the contract and receive a refund. However, we will only accept unwanted products for refund within 7 days of delivery, provided that the goods are complete with all relevant packaging in an unused and re-saleable condition. You must inform us in writing of your desire to cancel within seven working days starting on the day after the day the goods are delivered to you. You must return the goods to us at your cost and we advise you to ensure the goods are adequately insured during any return journey. If you have not returned the goods within 14 days of cancellation or if requested we can collect the goods from you at your cost.

Returns Policy

- If for any reason you are not satisfied, you can return any item provided that the goods are complete with all relevant packaging in an unused and re-saleable condition within 7 days of the date of shipment for a refund or an exchange. It’s that simple.

- We make no charge for returns – there is no restocking fee

- Returned goods must be unused, in a saleable condition and in their original packaging with all labels still attached. Please note that items showing signs of wear or those that have been engraved, altered, resized, or damaged in any way cannot be accepted for return.

- We cannot accept returns on clothing that has been personalised e.g. with name printing

- We will credit the card we have on file for you this may take up to 10 working days to appear as cleared funds

- If the original payment was via PayPal we will credit the PayPal account that the order was placed with

- Value of goods only will be refunded.

- For the purpose of hygiene, shorts, knicks and tights with a seatpad cannot be returned

NOTE: Please do not tape up, or attach labels direct to the retail packaging, please wrap the product first.

- Goods must be returned within 7 days of receipt.

- Goods must be in original packaging.

- Goods must not be fitted or used.

- Goods must be accompanied with a Cover note with your order number, name, address, reason for return, explaining if you would like a exchange or refund.

Who pays the postage on returned Items?
If you return something due to it not fitting or being suitable, you will need to pay the postage costs to return it to us.

If you return something due to it being faulty we refund up to ?10 carriage for bikes & frames and ?5 for smaller items. If your return exceeds this amount please contact info@fatbirds.co.uk and we can arrange collection for you. Please state a date and collection address (not Saturday or Sunday) where the goods can be collected from.

We recommend you use recorded delivery or registered post to return items so as to cover yourself against loss.

Brand new, its only had customers sat on it for sizing – never taken out of the shop except for the photos.

This custom spec Blue Triad EX is a beauty. Exemplary design and production from carbon composites experts aerus (owner of Blue racing bikes) who have turned their hand to bikes now the space programme has been scaled back. A lightweight, super aero, wind tunnel honed frame shape balances aerodynamic efficiency with stiffness and superb power transfer to deliver super fast results. Andreas Raelert was riding Blue for 4 years and he is now the world record holder in the full iron distance.

 

 

 The custom spec includes the superlight aerus bar set, a full Ultegra 6700 groupset (with d/a bar end shifters and integrated rear brake system), Mavic Cosmic Carbone clincher wheelset
